My right hand officially hates me for these sugar trees, simply because minute motions of squeezing (what seems like) a million points of icing all around an ice cream cone is a recipe for a hand cramp. But oh, it was worth it! These sugar trees were constructed by piping sparkly green royal icing (yay to pearlescent powder!) on pointy ice cream cones and then finishing off with little silver balls for ornaments (and they dried really fast, so A. had to throw those tiny balls on real quick!). Perfect!

And then to keep them nice and fresh, we put them in an airtight container and they looked just like little trees in a terrarium! So cute! And the best part, opening up the lid to smell the sugary forest.

And then the next day, we put them atop the swirly cheesecake (yes, I’m on a bit of a cheesecake kick, I blame it on the neverending cream cheese packages in the fridge!) and added a little snow covered house and a (not to scale) Santa just for the heck of it. And then, we gave it away in holiday spirit!

Christmas baking makes me real happy :)
