Sometimes, like this morning, something or someone irritates me to no end. And I try really hard to invoke inner calm and peace – I keep reminding myself, the world is like my yoga mat, life is like my practice and every annoyance, difficulty or bump along the way is a pose that is frustrating, intense, uncomfortable… and all I have to do is be aware and breathe.

But a lot of the time, I just want to scream, yell, hurl obscenities…to lose my temper, really.

Cultivating equanimity is a tricky business, isn’t it?
