Mother’s Day was celebrated with dinner and a slice of  pear upside down cake (with ice cream). Aside from the face that I severely challenged at layering fruit in concentric circles, this cake came together pretty easily. The trickiest bit was multitasking but that was also pretty manageable. The cake was nice and crumbly, the caramel sweet (mum complained it was too sweet) and the pears pretty soft… Also, do you like my little flags? They are my new obsession these days – I want to put them on practically everything.
