This Christmas was pretty epic… well, it definitely felt that way. At times, it felt like a little too much, especially with forever fluctuating guest lists, uncooperative cookie dough, unending to do lists – but at the end of the day, like always, everything worked itself out (with the help of awesome people and cheer to go around)!

The Christmas dinner menu looked something like this: Appetizers – sweet onion dip, bean salsa, avocado dip with smoked salmon; Mains – Norm the turkey (brined and rubbed with herb butter), grilled veggies, seafood pesto pasta, ham, oxtail stew, prosciutto, sweet potato salad and spinach arugula salad with caramelized walnuts and tangerine; Dessert – raspberry cheesecake, lemon meringue pie, lemon vanilla shortbread cookies, chocolate gingerbread cookies, cranberry orange cookies, chocolate caramel sandwiches, cheesecake cups, vanilla peppermint cupcakes and apple pie pops. Hot damn!

Oh and presents! This year, I got two chocolate cookbooks (I think the universe is trying to prep me for treats galore for the boy’s arrival), an awesome faber castel birch pencil, the cutest charm bracelet, a mega-awesome flash, a musical recorder and production kit (finally! I’ve been wanting one of these for so long), cool yoga pants, a ton of bath stuff and a pretty pretty ruffled headband. I heart! So much love and thanks! :)
