This video of Sarah Kay at TED has me spellbound and a little weepy. Mostly because her words are breathtaking, but also partially because it makes me nostalgic for after-school afternoons spent in speech & drama, performing Tennyson’s ‘Break, break, break’…. and how it was only just a poem until years later, when he was gone and the quietness of that room was swallowing me, did the words roll off my tongue in a whisper like they were mine to begin with.

Sometimes poetry can save you like that.
