We took a road trip up to Kuala Lumpur this weekend with the family. On the way up, we stopped at Simpang Rennang for some delicious bak kut teh (pork bone soup – mine with no meat, but filled to the brim with tau pok & straw mushrooms). After we checked into the Ritz, we went to the Lot 10 Hutong food court. The next morning, we went to Imbi market for breakfast (did you know they’re tearing the place down soon?!) – curry cheong fun (rice rolls), fish head bee hoon, popiah, peanut pancakes and more! Then, off for some shopping along Bukit Bintang and later, dinner at Noong and Jimmy, where the boy indulged in black pepper crab and the fried rice & tom yum soup is so good. The next morning, we went to a corner coffee shop  for breakfast – curry mee, wanton noodles, extra char siew (roast pork) and char kway teow (friend noodles) before collecting our pre-ordered gai pao and mini egg tarts from Weng Hing. The result? I am still stuffed from the weekend.
